SŪTRA began long before it became a brand. I twinkle come from a family of potters in Gujarat, where clay was shaped into diyas, pots, and small toys by hand, not for luxury, but for daily life. As I grew older, education and an M.Com degree took me away from that world, until my work with Gujarat’s rural and tribal cultural development programs brought me back to it. There, I saw extraordinary skills slowly fading—not because they lacked beauty or value, but because they lacked opportunity. When I moved to the UK, I realised I now stood at a crossroads between two cultures. SŪTRA was created to bridge that distance, to carry the hands, stories, and dignity of Indian artisans onto a global platform, ensuring their craft remains alive, respected, and meaningful in a fast-moving modern world.
